What is
your perception of Poland? Emerson Smith, a sociologist, says, "I was born in Chicago,
where many Poles live as part of the Polonia, the worldwide diaspora. My first visit to Poland was on a train, the Venice
Simplon-Orient Express, traveling from Vienna, through Slovakia and Poland, and on to Prague. In Poland, we stopped
in Krakow, Warsaw, Malbork, Bydgoszcz and Poznan. "It was, and still is, a
beautiful country with thriving cities, universities, farms, and businesses. I felt an attachment to the people of Poland
because I was born in a city with many Polish people, good food, and a rich culture. I made a decision to return. "Before I visited Poland the second time, this time to work on economic development with the biotech industry,
I visited the Polish Consulate in Chicago to learn more about Poland. I was given a lot of helpful information and advice.
I now have lifelong friendships in Poland. I will always be coming back." Let us know your story about
